The 2nd National New Longman Primary School English Teaching Seminar is held successfully in Huamei School between November 19th -21st , which is cosponsored by Peisheng Education Publishing Group and Guangzhou Huamei International School. About 120 teachers across China get together to discuss New Longman Children¡¯s English teaching and give comments to classroom teaching. The National Course Experts, Mr Lu, the President of of Peisheng Education Publishing Group in Chinese Region, Mrs Sang, Qualified Advisor Hongkong Longman Company, Mrs Lilian attended the seminar and respectively made instruction to the teacher¡¯s classroom teaching.
Principal Xiong of Huamei School shows warm welcome to the experts and teachers ¡¯s visiting Huamei and emphasizes on the feature and target of English teaching in the school. Six Chinese and Foreign Teachers from Huamei School, Fushan Foreign Language School in Shanghai, Wuhan Experimental Foreign Language School, South China Normal University Attached Elementary School gave spot lessons to the primary students in Huamei school. They were amazed that the children could use English so proficiently as a learning medium, interacting with the teachers at great ease even though they were being watched by hundred pairs of eyes. One of the teacher from Wuhan thought highly of the students¡¯ behavior. She said ¡°the students in Huamei are doing extremely well no matter in vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and sentence. Their master of English had exceed their peers.
The afternoon of 20th Nov. is the Group Discussion time, the representative teachers not only discuss about teaching design and organization, but also communicate on how to give the sample lesson, how to evaluate the teaching, how to view and solve some problems and difficulties existing in teaching.
Through communication of this seminar, it will certainly promote the schools¡¯ English teaching to a higher level in the future.
